Immunopathogenesis and immunotherapy of Culicoides hypersensitivity in horses: an update
نویسندگان
چکیده
Culicoides hypersensitivity (CH) is a strongly pruritic dermatitis of horses, characterised histologically by mixed perivascular to diffuse cellular infiltrates mononuclear cells and eosinophils, caused helper T cell (Th)2, immunoglobulin (Ig)E‐mediated reactions antigens present in the saliva biting midges. As treatment CH still not satisfactory, better knowledge pathogenesis needed for development new therapeutic modalities. Accordingly, availability pure allergens instead crude whole body extracts essential improvement vitro diagnosis more effective allergen immunotherapy (AIT). Beside Th2 cytokines interleukin (IL)‐4 IL‐13, recent studies have shown involvement thymic stromal lymphopoietin, IL‐5 IL‐31 CH. The importance has been confirmed through targeting these active immunisation patients, resulting significant decrease lesion scores. Thirty salivary described over last 10 years produced as recombinant (r‐) proteins. Use protein microarray allowed identification most relevant r‐allergens central northern Europe. An protocol developed preventive AIT against Small amounts r‐ injected into submandibular lymph nodes with Alum/MPLA adjuvants seem induce suitable immune response both AIT. next will reveal whether advancements translate an improved diagnosis, prevention

Update on immunopathogenesis and immunotherapy in multiple sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system. Both genetic and environmental factors are believed to contribute to the pathogenesis of the disease. Histopathological findings suggest that multiple sclerosis is an immune-mediated disease, involving both the cellular and humoral immune systems. Within the last 20 years, several disease-modifying...
متن کاملdevelopment and implementation of an optimized control strategy for induction machine in an electric vehicle
in the area of automotive engineering there is a tendency to more electrification of power train. in this work control of an induction machine for the application of electric vehicle is investigated. through the changing operating point of the machine, adapting the rotor magnetization current seems to be useful to increase the machines efficiency. in the literature there are many approaches wh...
15 صفحه اولAn update on immunopathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of multiple sclerosis
BACKGROUND Multiple sclerosis is an acquired demyelinating disease of the central nervous system. It is the second most common cause of disability in adults in United States after head trauma. DISCUSSION The etiology of MS is probably multifactorial, related to genetic, environmental, and several other factors. The pathogenesis is not fully understood but is believed to involve T-cell-mediate...
متن کاملImmunopathogenesis and Immunotherapy for Viral Hepatitis
Neither hepatitis B virus (HBV) nor hepatitis C virus (HCV) is cytopathic, and hepatitis is caused by the host immune response against virus-related peptides expressed on hepatocytes in conjunction with human leukocyte antigens (HLA). In acute self-limiting hepatitis, a broad immune response occurs that is strong enough to eradicate the virus or suppress viral replication (Rehermann, 1996). How...
متن کاملAn Update on Endotoxemia in Horses
In the past three decades, a considerable amount of information has arisen about the involvement of endotoxins in horses with gastrointestinal diseases. The purpose of this paper is to provide a succinct review of the pathogenesis of endotoxemia and its treatment. This will be accomplished by first defining endotoxins, identifying how these toxins interact with specific plasma proteins and cell...
